LCW Survival Project 2008 Pay-Per-View Results 09.21.08

LCW Survival Project 2008 Pay-Per-View Results (September 21, 2008) live from the Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to the LCW Survival Project pay-per-view, a 50-man gauntlet series of matches that could last 12 hours depending on the length of the matches to determine the number one contenders for the LCW Universal Championship and the LCW International Championship. Schiavone explained the rules: the first two men would enter the ring for their match. Each match has a 15-minute time limit and decisions are determined by pinfall, submission, countout, or disqualification. The winner advances to face the man who drew number three, four, and so on until he's eliminated. If both men in a match are counted out or disqualified, they will both be eliminated. If the 15-minute time limit expires, both men will be eliminated. Schiavone said, "This is the most unpredictable event in professional wrestling as it could last, as we said earlier, an amazing, action packed 12 hours if all matches go the full the 15-minutes." Schiavone announced that the man with the most eliminations at the end of the night would be the number one contender for the LCW International Championship, but the man left standing at the end of the night will be the number one contender for the most prestigious title in Legends Championship Wrestling: the LCW Universal Championship. Zbyszko analyzed the fact that even if a legend manages to eliminate the most men and become the contender for the LCW International Championship, that legend could still lose to number 50 who would be the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was shown in his office watching the event with LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA. Meanwhile, in another part of the arena, LCW International Champion Butch Reed was shown with his manager Slick and they were watching the event on a monitor in a locker room. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone reminded the audience that as the defending champions, Magnum and Reed would not have to compete in the Survival Project.

In the ring, ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta turned the audience’s attention to the LegendsTron where a special video package about the history of the Philadelphia Specturm, the host arena, was played featuring footage from various wrestling events, musical converts, Philadelphia Flyers hockey games, and Philadelphia 76ers basketball games that took place in the arena. Built in 1967 and scheduled to be demolished in early 2009, the video package noted that LCW Survival Project could be the last professional wrestling event held in the historic arena. After the video package, Gary Michael Capetta explained the Survival Project rules again for the audience in attendance and said, “And now, ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to find out who will survive…the Survival Project!”
