LCW Survival Project 2007 Pay-Per-View Results 09.23.07

LCW Survival Project Pay-Per-View Results (September 23, 2007) live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Survival Project, the 50-man Gauntlet Tournament. Schiavone explained the rules: the first two men would enter the ring for their match. Each match is 15 minutes and decisions are determined by pinfall, submission, countout, or disqualification. The winner advances to face the man who drew number three, four, and so on until he's eliminated. If both men in a match are counted out or disqualified, they will both be eliminated. If the 15-minute time limit expires, both men will be eliminated. Schiavone said, "This is the most unpredictable event in professional wrestling as it could last 12 hours if all matches go the full 15-minutes." Schiavone announced that the man with the most eliminations at the end of the night will be the number one contender for the LCW International Championship, but the man left standing at the end of the night will be the number one contender for the most prestigious title in Legends Championship Wrestling: the LCW Universal Championship. Schiavone reminded everyone that LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff and LCW International Champion Paul Orndorff would not be participants in the Survival Project since they are the reigning champions.

In the back, LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff was shown in LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway's office watching the event on Calaway's Samsung 52-Inch LCD HDTV. In the locker room, LCW International Champion Paul Orndorff was shown watching the show on a backstage monitor with several other legends. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, "With that, let's go to ringside and ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta to find out the first two participants in this year's Survival Project."

However, Schiavone reminded everyone again that the night was still young and someone else could still beat that record and become the number one contender for the LCW International Championship.

Corporal Kirchner (34) defeated Koko B. Ware (35) in 4:52 by pinfall with a small package rollup. After the match, Ware attacked Kirchner. Butch Reed (36; with Slick) came out and joined Ware in attacking Kirchner. Together, they continued attacking Kirchner. When referee Billy Silverman tried to stop them, Ware pushed him to the mat. The referee got back up and tried to stop them again, but Reed punched Silverman knocking him out. Referee Tommy Young then came out and Ware knocked him out as well. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that Butch Reed was disqualified and if Ware and Reed didn't stop attacking Kirchner, they would both be suspended. They finally stopped attacking Kirchner and as Ware and Reed were leaving together with Slick, Ware spit on several of the fans at ringside and flipped them off after they reached the entrance ramp.

Stone Cold Steve Austin (46) defeated Scott Hall (44) in 5:03 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner. After Austin eliminated Hall, Schiavone noted that Austin could meet Scott Hall's good friend Diamond Dallas Page, a man Austin had had some issues with recently in LCW, who would be entering the gauntlet tournament at number 50 and could be the only thing to stand in Austin's way of victory at the end of the night and securing a shot at the LCW Universal Championship. Superstar Billy Graham came out at number 47 and Schiavone said, "Never mind that, that man right there (as Graham made his way to the ring) could knock Austin out of the tournament right now."

Stone Cold Steve Austin (46) defeated LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page (50) in 18:35 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner after Austin slipped out of an attempted Diamond Cutter to become the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship. The match initially ended in a time limit draw, but LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that there would be a winner in sudden death overtime. After the match, Page got in Austin's face and looked like he was going to attack Austin, but instead he extended his hand for a handshake and the two men shook hands and Page raised Austin's arm in the air and then left the ring so Austin could celebrate. From behind a masked man jumped the security barricade and attacked Austin from behind, knocking him out with a steel chair before joining LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway, who came out to watch the attack, on the entrance ramp. Schiavone said, "Well, at least we know that neither Page nor Calaway are the masked man!" Zbyszko, "Yeah, Tony, but who is this guy?" Schiavone said, "That's the question, Larry. That's the question. It looks like the same guy that attacked Austin at LCW Caged Heat last month. Hopefully, we'll find out sooner than later who this masked man is and why he keeps attacking Stone Cold Steve Austin!" With Austin victorious, but slowly regaining consciousness in the middle of the ring and trying to get back to his feet, Calaway left with the masked man as the show went off the air.
