LCW SuperClash (July 2, 2006) live from FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway arrived in a white limousine with LCW Board of Directors members Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales. Sean Mooney approached them and Calaway said, “Mooney, tonight will be the dawning of a new era in Legends Championship Wrestling because tonight we’re all about that old saying that goes ‘out with the old and in with the new’. Excuse me, I’ve got some business to take care of.” Calaway left as Mooney wondered out loud about what Calaway meant with his cryptic message.

In the back, Mean Gene Okerlund was awaiting the arrival of the number one contender for the LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff who arrived with his arm wrapped in a bandage after being attacked by the Heenan Family last week on Showdown. His uncle, Ivan Koloff, also got out of the car. Okerlund approached them and mentioned that the last time Ivan Koloff was seen in LCW, he lost a loser leaves LCW match to his nephew Nikita Koloff after a savage feud between the two. Ivan said they were family and family needed to stick together. Ivan said he was going to be in Nikita’s corner tonight and would make sure the Heenan Family didn’t interfere.
Tony Schivone and Lance Russell welcomed everyone to LCW SuperClash. Russell officially announced that this event would be his last in the broadcast as he was leaving Legends Championship Wrestling. He thanked everyone for their support and well wishes. With that he said, “Let’s go down to ringside and ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta.”
Lex Luger defeated LCW Television Champion Dusty Rhodes (with Baby Doll) in 9:32 by pinfall in a bullrope match to win the LCW Television Championship. During the match, the referee was knocked out and the cowbell attached to the bullrope fell off and rolled out of the ring. Baby Doll picked up the cowbell and got into the ring. Dusty, on his hands and knees, asked her to hand the cowbell to him, but instead of handing it to him, she slammed the cowbell down onto his head. She then struggled to pull Luger on top of Rhodes as the referee regained consciousness and counted the pin. After the match, as Rhodes was helped out of the ring by medical officials, Baby Doll helped Lex Luger to his feet and they embraced. Rhodes turned around to see Luger kissing Baby Doll and Rhodes looked heartbroken.
In the back, Sean Mooney interview Sgt. Slaughter, with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie, who promised to win the LCW International Championship from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Slaughter said he was going to do it to prove that Austin wasn’t worthy of being a hero and the only man in LCW worthy of being a hero was Sgt. Slaughter.
LCW International Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin defeated Sgt. Slaughter (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 6:27 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner. After the match, Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie tried to attack Austin, but he also hit him with the Stone Cold Stunner.
In the back, The Dynamite Kid approached Chris Benoit who was wrapping tape around his wrist before his loser leaves LCW match Dynamite Kid asked Benoit if he was ready and Benoit said he was, but he was still worried about J.J. Dillon or a member of the Four Horsemen interfering. Dynamite Kid said he would be in Benoit’s corner tonight to make sure that didn’t happen. Dynamite Kid then said they might have to change their names to the Two Horsemen because Ric Flair (who lost a loser leaves LCW match to Nikita Kooff two weeks ago on Showdown) was gone and after tonight Barry Windham would be gone as well. Benoit and Dynamite Kid laughed as they headed towards the ring.
Barry Windham defeated Chris Benoit (with The Dynamite Kid) in 8:29 by pinfall in a loser leaves LCW match. In accordance with pre-match stipulations, James J. Dillon, Barry Windham’s manager, was banned from ringside during the match. During the match, Benoit signaled for the end of the match and mounted the top rope for the flying headbutt. He pounded his heart and then pointed to Dynamite Kid to signal the move was in honor of his wrestling hero. Benoit went for the move, but Windham moved out of the way and Benoit hit the mat. Windham then placed an arm on Benoit for the pin. After the match, The Dynamite Kid got in the ring and berated Benoit saying, “What the hell was that? That was pathetic. You’re nothing now. You have nothing now.” Dynamite Kid shook his head in shame before helping Benoit to his feet. Dynamite Kid then blasted Benoit with a clothesline out of nowhere that almost took his head off. Dynamite Kid hit Benoit with a couple of snap suplexes before he mounted the top rope and hit Benoit with the flying headbutt. Dynamite Kid said, “That’s how it’s done,” before spitting on Benoit and leaving the ring. Benoit had to be helped from the ring by medical officials.
In the back, Mean Gene Okerlund interviewed The Honky Tonk Man and Jimmy Hart. The Honky Tonk Man said not only was he the greatest WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time, but he was also the greatest LCW United States Champion of all time and wasn’t going to lose the title to Jake Roberts.
Jake Roberts defeated LCW United States Champion The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) in 5:08 by disqualification after Jimmy Hart interfered and pulled the referee out of the ring. During the match, The Honky Tonk Man tried to use his guitar as a weapon, but Roberts grabbed the guitar and threw it down. Roberts hit Honky with the short clothesline and then pointed at the guitar. Roberts picked up the guitar and raised it above his head as if he was going to bring it down on Honky, hitting him with it. Instead, Roberts slowly placed the guitar back on the mat with the strings facing down. Roberts then signaled for the DDT and the fans cheered. Roberts then picked Honky up and hit him with the DDT on the guitar, breaking the guitar. Jimmy Hart then interfered and pulled the referee out of the ring, stopping the count, and giving the win to Roberts via disqualification. After the match, Honky rolled out of the ring as Roberts grabbed Hart and hit him with the DDT. Honky returned with another guitar from under the ring and blasted Roberts. Ron Garvin then ran our with a steel chair and cleared Honky, who was carrying Jimmy Hart, out of the ring. Garvin checked on Roberts condition and helped him to his feet.
In the back, Mean Gene Okerlund approached The Honky Tonk Man and an almost unconscious Jimmy Hart as they walked through the curtain about what just happened and Honky complained about Ron Garvin interfering in his business. Honky said Roberts and Garvin hadn’t heard the last from him.
In the back, Eric Bischoff was preparing for his match against Hulk Hogan when Bobby Heenan approached him. Bischoff complained to Heenan about the match and Heenan offers his services as Bischoff’s manager. Bischoff thanked Heenan and accepted the offer. Bischoff and Heenan shook hands.
LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys defeated The Steiner Brothers in 8:33 by pinfall when Brian Knobbs pinned Rick Steiner after Knobbs blasted Steiner with the dog collar in a double dog collar, loser leaves LCW match. After the match, The Steiner Brothers thanked the fans and then left the ring.
In the back, Hulk Hogan arrived and was immediately surrounded by LCW security officials and LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel and ushered into a secluded room where he was told by Bockwinkel that he would have to wait until his match against Eric Bischoff. Hogan asked why Bockwinkel was doing this and he said it was because Hogan was still suspended. Bockwinkel apologized and left the room.
Jimmy Snuka defeated Stan Hansen in 4:58 by pinfall after the Superfly Splash in a match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Heritage Championship.
In the back, as Bob Backlund made his way to the ring, Jimmy Snuka walked by him and wished him good luck in winning the LCW Heritage Championship from Superstar Billy Graham.
Bob Backlund defeated LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham in 7:18 by pinfall with a rollup with his feet on the ropes to win the LCW Heritage Championship. After the match, Killer Khan, with Mr. Fuji, came out and attacked Bob Backlund. The number one contender for the LCW Heritage Championship Jimmy Snuka came out with a steel chair and saved Backlund.
In the back, Mean Gene Oklerlund interviewed Randy Savage about his recent change in attitude and Savage said it wasn't a change it attitude, but a shift in focus and his focus was clear now. Savage promised he was going to do whatever it takes to win the match and then win the LCW International Championship next month.
Randy Savage defeated Ricky Steamboat in 20:48 by pinfall after the flying elbow smash in the final match in the best of three series to determine the number one contender for the LCW International Championship. During the match, Sherri Martel came out, interfered and distracted Steamboat by jumping on the apron and slapping Steamboat across the face. After the match, Savage and Sherri embraced.
In the back, Mean Gene Okerlund interview LCW International Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin about having to defend his title against former LCW Universal Champion Randy Savage at LCW Beach Brawl on July 30th. Austin said he was going to open a can of whoop ass on Savage and would open a can on “that bitch, Scary Sherri” as well.
Demolition defeated LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Hart Foundation (with Jimmy Hart) in 7:28 by pinfall when Demolition Smash pinned Jim Neidhart after the Decapitation Device after Jimmy Hart accidentally hit Neidhart with the megaphone to win the LCW United States Tag Team Championships.
Eric Bischoff (with Bobby Heenan) defeated Hulk Hogan 6:43 by pinfall after Bobby Heenan interfered from ringside and tripped Hogan causing him to fall on his face which allowed Bischoff to score the pinfall and the win. After the match, Tony Schiavone and Lance Russell voiced their surprise that a simple trip could give knock out Hogan and give Bischoff the win. Russell said, “Something doesn’t seem right here.”
In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway approached The Outsiders and said, “Man, we are cleaning house tonight. Chris Benoit is gone, The Steiner Brothers are gone. You know, you guys have just been hanging out in LCW, collecting a paycheck, haven’t really made an impact, haven’t really done much, have you? Well tonight, in this battle royal, you had better be at least one of the last two teams standing if you want to stay in Legends Championship Wrestling. If not, well Kevin you’ve found work in TNA and that seems to be working for you. As for you Scott, well there’s a bar down the road I’m sure you’ll find yourself right at home in. A win tonight will see you guys to the contendership for a title, but a loss is only going to see you to the unemployment line.”
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson), and Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard (with James J. Dillon) won a 20-man battle royal in 16:27 to earn the ring to face each other in a match to determine the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team and LCW United States Tag Team Championships which also included: Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas, The Powers of Pain (The Warlord and The Barbarian with Paul Jones), The Brisco Brothers (Jack and Jerry Brisco), The Killer Bees (Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell), The Young Stallions (Jim Powers and Paul Roma), The Fantastics (Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton), The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller and Luke Williams), The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie), The Funk Brothers (Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr.), Strike Force (Rick Martel and Tito Santana), Doom (Ron Simmons and Butch Reed with Woman), The Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin with Buddy Roberts), The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane), The Orient Express (Sato and Tanaka with Mr. Fuji), The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash), The Skyscrapers (Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey with Theodore Long), The Islanders (Haku and Tama), and The Rougeau Brothers (Jacques and Raymond Rougeau). At the start of the match, The Outsiders were eliminated by The Powers of Pain when The Warlord and The Barbarian clotheslined Kevin Nash and Scott Hall over the top rope after everyone attacked The Outsiders as they came into the ring. After they were eliminated the crowd sang, “Na, na, na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye.”
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeated Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard (with James J. Dillon) in 4:09 by pinfall when Robert Gibson pinned Arn Anderson with a small package rollup to become the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships. As a results of pre-match stipulations and as a result of the loss, Anderson and Blanchard became the number one contenders for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships.
In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway watched as security officials escorted The Outsiders out of the ring. The Outsiders said it wasn’t over and they would be back and Calaway said, “Yeah, how about coming back when you want to work for your paycheck.”
Fort Minor came out and performed “Remember The Name” which brought Nikita Koloff to the ring.
Nikita Koloff (with Ivan Koloff) defeated LCW Universal Champion Paul Orndorff (with Bobby Heenan) in 19:59 by pinfall after the Russian Sickle clothesline to win the LCW Universal Championship. After the match, Ivan and Nikita Koloff celebrated the victory with the crowd.
